About Host47
Host47 is a static website hosting prototype by duff_ai. It is designed for submitting websites made with HTML and CSS.
A website path appears after the domain, for example host47.pages.dev/my-site. These are URL paths, not individual subdomains.
The prototype does not automatically publish websites. A working hosting backend and deployment system are required for actual publication.
How submissions work
- Enter a website path and the contents of index.html.
- Add optional HTML or CSS files if needed.
- Press Send (Host).
- The form is replaced by the complete formatted JSON submission.
- Use Copy to clipboard to copy the JSON.
- Send the copied JSON in the body of an email to contact-dai@proton.me. Paste it into the message body, not as an attachment.
- The submission is reviewed manually. Sending a submission does not mean it has been accepted or published.
Supported files
- index.html is required and cannot be empty.
- Additional HTML files are optional.
- Additional CSS files are optional.
- Nested paths for additional files are supported, for example pages/about.html and assets/css/style.css.
- File names must use supported extensions and valid paths.
- JavaScript is not supported in hosted websites.
Submissions must be checked by a server before publication. Browser-side validation alone cannot guarantee that a submission contains no JavaScript or other unwanted content.
Website paths
- Each website uses a path after the host domain.
- Paths may contain letters, numbers, dots, hyphens and underscores.
- Paths must begin and end with a letter or number.
- Paths cannot exceed 48 characters.
- Consecutive dots are not allowed.
- A path that has already been used must not be assigned to another website.
The current prototype does not have a connected database to reserve paths or detect every previously published path. The path-availability check must be implemented on the server for real hosting.
Review and publication
Every submission must be reviewed before publication. Review may include checking the submitted HTML, CSS, filenames, website path, and compliance with these rules.
- Submitting content does not guarantee acceptance.
- Unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or otherwise prohibited content may be rejected.
- Submissions must not attempt to bypass hosting restrictions.
- Only approved files should be deployed.
- Manual review can reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every problem will be detected.
Host47 does not automatically publish content when a user submits a JSON configuration.
Accounts and deletion
- No user login or registration is provided.
- There is no user-facing website deletion feature.
- Website paths are intended to be assigned only once.
Prototype limitations
This version generates JSON in the browser and provides a copy-to-clipboard button. It does not send emails, publish websites, store submissions on a server, or automatically notify the site owner.
Users must manually email their copied JSON to contact-dai@proton.me. The site owner must review the submission and manually prepare and deploy approved files.
Server-side validation, JavaScript blocking, path reservation, secure storage, spam protection, and deployment must be implemented before this prototype can function as a complete public hosting service.
